I was able to read it and not objectify all that I read on other people – I kept myself in focus from beginning to end…
I laughed, I cried, I was amazed, I was touched on so many levels and I finally got it!
This book… if you haven’t read it and you’re a man with a masculine essence – READ IT!!! And then read it again, and again until you get it fully – get it until it touches you so deep that you surrender yourself.
It’s so easy to forget who you really are, so easy to just sink in an accept mediocrity, so easy to live another plan than your own, so easy… too easy – this book reminds you of who you really are – and as the subtitle implies – ” A Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work, and Sexual Desire” – a way to gain a lot of wisdom about namely that
It’s a new path and one that David Deida is teaching with clarity and a great deal of provocative attitude – and I love it!
Take for example a look at this short 10 minute outtake from a video released back in the late 90′s – David Deida Seminar
More than anyone has he taught me that it is a MUST for a masculine man to go out and bring your unique gift to the world and live it – and that you have to lean into the fear that follows that gift – just a little everyday!
Another point that resonated real clear with me is that a women can never be a mans mission – I have thought that but never allowed myself to say it aloud. My mental cage was still too confined I guess… But it makes perfect sense to me.
In this introduction clip to that DVD, Deida explains the difference between Therapy, Yoga, and Spiritual Practice as they pertain to sexuality. While Therapy deals with “function,” and Spiritual Practice with “glow,” Deida sets the stage for a discussion of the actual “flow” of Yogic energy – check it out here.
In this clip, Deida polls the audience on their sexual realizations, then sends them into hysterics as he pantomimes a handful of hilariously imbalanced sexual personas. He then respectfully ruminates on the therapeutic deficiencies of the great Ramana Maharshi, before making the counterintuitive claim that the world’s greatest artists touch us so deeply BECAUSE of their imbalance – check it out here.
In the last clip I was able to find Deida explains the fundamental dynamic of masculinity and feminity – the play of “Masculine Witness and femine Phemomena”, or “Observer and Observed”. – check it out here.
Listen – even though everyone presented on this blog is amongst the best in their respective field, David is totally unique – do yourself a favour and check his stuff out now!
