Powerful Habits For Growth Mind-Set Success

by Brenda Berg: Your mindset has a huge part to play in your success…

Awaken

There’s a reason why so many successful people preach the word about positive thinking. If you’re going into work with the right mindset, you’re setting yourself up for success. Here are some habits you can develop to develop a growth mind-set that will get you far, whatever your goals are.

Recognise that a mindset can be changed

As with most things in life, how you feel about your work will change, depending on how you look at it. Writer Darren May from State of writing says, ‘I believe there’s no such thing as a fixed mindset. The brain isn’t fixed, so the mind isn’t either. Everything you see and hear will change your thinking, so allow yourself to change your mind-set about your work. Everything else is our boundaries.’ You should know how your brain works and it will help you understand your behaviour better.

Don’t let others play down your success

A sad fact of life is that some people will always want to pull you down when you’re climbing high. They could be jealous of you, or they could even see you as an obstacle to their own goals. This can feel seriously demoralising when all you want to do is get on and achieve your own goals. Don’t let their actions get to you. Recognise that their actions can’t affect the successes that you’ve already achieved. Know your personal triggers and increase your abilities.

Take time out to reflect

If you want to develop a growth mind-set, you can’t always be on the go. You need to be able to take time out and really reflect on what you’re doing. Carve a few minutes out of every day to think about what you’re doing, and where you’re going. Are you headed towards your goals? If not, you can use this time to make changes.

Always be open to learning opportunities

People with good growth mindsets know that they’re always going to be learning. The world doesn’t stand still, and so neither should you. If you get the opportunity to learn a new skill, take it. If you feel your current skills need some work, don’t hesitate to work on them. For example, if your writing skills aren’t as good as you’d like them to be, use an Academadvisor and Viawriting to help you get them back on track.

Don’t see failure as a negative

It’s almost a cliché at this point, but if you fail, it isn’t the end of the world. If a project goes wrong, take it in your stride. Sit back, and look at where it went wrong, and how. With hindsight, you’ll be the angle to see where you made the mistake and be able to work out what you need to do in the future to avoid this. Failure is really nothing more than another learning opportunity.

Work on your writing skills

Speaking of writing, it’s a good idea to get working on your writing skills. Good business writing is more important than ever. You’ll communicate the most through the written word, so you need to know how to express yourself fully in this manner. You can join a writing community such as UK top writers, if you need help.

Don’t let others define you

It’s easy to start seeking approval from others, but it’s more important that you approve of yourself. Don’t set a goal just because you think you should. Go after the things that will help you attain success in your own life.

It’s important to grow and change throughout your whole career. Use the right mindset, and you can use these changes to your advantage. Try these tips, and you’ll see the benefits right away.
